Gabriela Mistral

Hi classmates!

Well, today I´m going to talk to you about my greatest Chilean of all time. She´s
Lucila de María del Perpetuo Socorro Godoy Alcayaga, you might wonder, who is?  Her pseudonym is Gabriela Mistral. She was a prominent poet, diplomat, and Chilean feminist pedagogy born in Vicuña, Chile, but was raised in the small Andean village of Montegrande, where she attended the Primary school.
In 1904 Mistral published some early poems, such as "Dreams", “Intimate Letter” in the local newspaper “El Coquimbo”,  “Diario Radical”, and “La Voz de Elqui” using a range of pseudonyms and variations on her civil name.
She´s one of the leading figures of the Chilean continental literature and was the first Latin American and, so far, only the latin American woman awarded the nober prize for literature in 1945.
The motivation for his award was "his lyrical work, inspired by powerful emotions, has made her name a symbol of the idealistic aspirations of the entire Latin American world"
I think  how Gabriela Mistral, was a very good person, when she died donate her money for the childrens in “Montegrande”, where she did classes. I would like to ask Gabriela about the Chilean culture and the Chilean supporting for her career, because I think it hasn´t been considered as such will take importance in the Chilean culture.

The image of Gabriela has appeared in the 5000 Chilean bill from July 1981 after that in 2009 was renamed the Diego Portales building to call Centro Cultural Gabriela Mistal in her honor.

Classmates I can´t upload a photo of Gabriela Mistral, because my internet is reaaaally but really bad, See you.
